Irene Bell, 85, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:20 A.M., Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at her residence.
Irene was a homemaker.  She had worked at Rector Brothers and Krogers.  She was of the Methodist faith.  She was a member of Royal Neighbors, a lifelong Republican, a Republican Precinct Committeeman, member of the Perry County Republican Womens and also registered voters.
She was born May 24, 1920 at Centralia, the daughter of Edward and Maggie (Stinde) Jolliff.
She married Finis W. Bell on June 8, 1938 in Missouri and he preceded her in death on August 11, 1986.
She is survived by one son - Kenneth Bell and wife Judy of Du Quoin, one daughter - Terry Higgerson and husband Larry of Du Quoin, five grandchildren - Daniel Bell and wife Kathy of Du Quoin, Lisa Greatting and husband John of Sparta, Keith Bell and wife Zebada of Du Quoin, Kelley Englehardt and husband Caleb of Tuscola and Lance Higgerson of Du Quoin, and three great grandchildren - Shane and Ryan Bell and Bianca Bell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son - Tim Bell, seven brothers, one sister, and one great grandson - Trenton Bell.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, June 9, 2005 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Paul Ritter officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M., Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.
